Wizards Play Network Store
Magic: The Gathering Events at Strangecat Toys
Pull up a chair. We're a new TCG store in Tampa, and we host in-store Magic: The Gathering events for every kind of player, from first-timers learning the basics to seasoned deck builders. Bring a deck, bring a friend, or just come see what everyone's playing.
Our event schedule lives on the official Wizards Store & Event Locator and updates there whenever we add or change an event, so it's always the latest.
Coming Early 2027
A Whole New Space Built for Players
We're just getting started. In early 2027 we're expanding the shop with a dedicated play area made for Magic: The Gathering, with long tables, room for big Commander pods and prerelease crowds, and a themed setting with weathered timber, arched details and warm lantern lighting that feels like a world of its own. We can't wait to share it with you.
- 36 Players seated at once, mats and all
- 3 Long 14-foot gaming tables
- 100 Cards per display case, lowered for easy browsing
- 2027 Planned opening, early in the year

What We Play
The events below are the kinds we host. Formats, start times, entry fees and descriptions for each event are on our official Wizards listing.
-
01
Commander Nights
Casual multiplayer
Magic's most social format: big 100-card decks, a legendary commander and a table of friends. A relaxed way to play, trade stories and try out new builds.
-
02
Prereleases
New sets, first
Play with a new set before its official release. You build a deck on the spot from the cards you open, so everyone starts fresh and it's a great time to jump in.

03
More Magic Events
As scheduled
From drafts and constructed nights to learn-to-play sessions, we add other Magic events throughout the year. Check our listing to see what's coming up next.

Never Show Up to an Empty Table
Use our Discord to set up play meetups with other players. Post when you are planning to come in, find people who play your format and arrange a game ahead of time, so you are never at the shop with no one to play with. It is also where players chat about upcoming events and share what they are building.
